Phil Collins Announced His Retirement from Music Due To Health Reasons?

The announcement of Phil Collins retiring from music has been met with mixed reviews.  Even he stated that he didn’t think anyone would miss him?  According to ABC News, part of his reasoning for retirement is due to hearing problems.  Now to be fair, Mr. Collins posted a message regarding his retirement on his website which doesn’t say anything about his health.  Is this ageism at play?
